I was raised in rural Stanly County, North Carolina. I had a good upbringing from hard-working parents and grandparents in the textile industry. I was surrounded by an overwhelming commitment to family and dedication to hard work. Wendell is a graduate of Pfeiffer University with a BA in Criminal Justice. One of the highlights of my educational experiences was to attend the 222nd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia with officers from 256 countries.
My life seemed to come together once I became a police officer as this experience enabled me to understand that service above self was my mission in life. My passion was always with helping people, so I spent 29 years in law enforcement and recently retired from the Concord Police Department. My driving force for listening to people’s needs and desires is what got me into real estate. What I love most about Team Honeycutt is their passion for the community and improving the quality of life for everyone. Their reputation is a reflection of being the best real estate team to work with in the Charlotte area. After spending nearly 30 years in a mission-directed career, I realized that it can be difficult for a person to find themselves. Real estate put me back in touch with people and provided me with a platform to help others on a much happier note. Working with Team Honeycutt and meeting so many great people helped me find my sense of community and who I am again.
From negotiating pricing and repairs to mediating between multiple parties, many of my law enforcement skills carry over into real estate. It’s quite remarkable how a career in law enforcement helped shape me into a flexible, people-oriented real estate agent. Every day I strive to anticipate questions that a client may ask so that I can provide a class act experience for each and every client of mine.
I am thankful to have celebrated 30 years of marriage with my wife, Vickie, who manages a pediatric practice in the Charlotte area. My daughter, Amanda, and my son-in-law, Devin, are nurses in the Asheville area and my son, Brandon, is employed by a major hospital facility in the Charlotte area. My future daughter-in-law, Lesley, is an intensive care nurse in the Concord area. In addition, my parents are still living and I have a huge police, fire, EMS, and church family that lift my spirit every day! Team Honeycutt and Allen Tate is my new family and I am so proud of them and what they do to help people make memories for life.
See what others are saying about Wendell:
“This was the fifth home I have purchased and by far the best experience I have had. Wendell had the patience to show me many houses, but he was always able to be upbeat and positive. When we finally found the right one it far exceeded my expectations. Wendell always had my best interest at heart. He was able to work the closing costs to my advantage and when the closing got delayed he was able get a deal where I could move in early before closing avoiding having to pay another month’s rent. Dealing with Wendell was a pleasure as he is smart and was always on my side.”
“My wife and I would like to thank Wendell for all he did for us to get us into our new home. From the first day I met Wendell he was hard at work trying to find us that right home. Being from northern New York we were completely lost in this state. We told Wendell what we were looking for, the type of home, neighborhood, the price range, etc. and he did not disappoint. Wendell was constantly emailing us with different homes to look at over the internet. Being 850 miles away it was difficult to get to N.C. on a regular basis. Wendell emailed us information about this home that we eventually purchased. I drove down to look at it and said, ” This is the one.” I then told my wife about it and we made the purchase offer, which was finalized while I drove back to NY. Wendell was always there to answer our questions and did it in a very timely manner. He was very outgoing and worked extremely hard for us. THANK YOU WENDELL.”
